Helen has over 25 years of experience as a labour and employment lawyer. She has worked in private practice on Bay Street as well as in-house at large, unionized public sector employers. Helen has experience in both the federal and provincial sectors. As a labour and employment lawyer, Helen has extensive experience across a broad range of labour and employment matters, including:

  • employment litigation and labour arbitration
  • attendance and disability management
  • human rights
  • workplace downsizing
  • occupational safety and workplace safety and insurance
  • privacy
  • workplace emergency management

In 2015, after providing strategic labour and employment advice for more than 15 years, Helen established her practice as a workplace neutral.

Helen’s experience both in private practice and in-house environments provides a unique perspective on workplace issues, combining a strong understanding of the legal framework underlying workplace complaints with insight into the operational and human realities organizations face when responding to complex situations.
